Health Cheat Sheets

The following table of information is being created from information I obtain from various sites online and numerous newsgroups.  My goal is to add to the list as I notice useful information on the administration of vaccinations and medications to goats. 

Vaccinations

Preventive for: Product Initial or Annual Dosage How often administered Administer
Tetanus and Enterotoxemia 2 in 1 C & D Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine Initial vaccination 2 mL Initial followed by booster 2-3 weeks latter Subcutaneously
  C & D Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine Annual booster 2 mL at 6 wks before kidding once Subcutaneously
           
Tetanus only Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine Initial vaccination 1/2 cc Initial followed by booster 2-3 weeks latter Subcutaneously
  Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine Annual booster 1/2 cc at 6 wks before kidding once Subcutaneously
           
Mastitis - E.coli J-5 Initial vaccination 1 cc day 0, 14, and 28 for three doses total Subcutaneously
    annual booster 1 cc day 0, 14, and 28 for three doses total Subcutaneously
           
Mastitis - S. aureus Lysigin Initial vaccination 1 cc day 0 and 14 intramuscular
    annual booster 1 cc day 0 and 14 intramuscular
           

Antimicrobials   

Treatment for: Product Initial or Annual Dosage How often administered Administer
Internal and External Parasites and Liver Flukes Ivermectin Plus as needed 1 cc/40 lbs day 0, 10, and 20 for three dose total Subcutaneously
           
Antibacterial, etc. Sulmet 12.5 % as needed 1 cc/5 lbs day 1 of 5 orally
      1 cc/10 lbs day 2-5 of 5 orally
    3, 6, and 9 wks of age for kids 1 cc/5 lbs day 1 of 5 orally
      1 cc/10 lbs day 2-5 of 5 orally
           
Pneumonia Tylan 200 as needed 1 cc/20 lbs day 1 of 5 Subcutaneously
           
Mastitis Penicillin G as needed 1 cc/15 lbs twice per day from day 1 to 14 Subcutaneously
